Sandoz Semaglutide: Approved by Health Canada, Not Yet Marketed

Sandoz's generic Ozempic is approved but not for sale. Its two DINs and where the Apotex and Dr. Reddy's generics leave the market today.

Two DINs, no sale yet

Health Canada dated Sandoz's Notice of Compliance for generic semaglutide September 16, 2026. The Drug Product Database lists two DINs, 02571501 and 02571528, and as of September 29 both read Approved, not Marketed.

The generic market today

Apotex and Dr. Reddy's are the two generic semaglutide manufacturers with product on the market. A Sandoz launch would make three. We do not print a Sandoz price until one exists, and we will not estimate it.

What to watch

  • The DIN status changing from Approved to Marketed on the Drug Product Database.
  • A pharmacy or program listing the product with a real price.
  • Whether more competition narrows the gap with brand-name pricing.

None of that has happened yet.

Not a pharmacy

SemaglutideInjections Canada is not a pharmacy and not a medical provider. We do not sell, supply, or dispense medication, and we do not offer medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Any medication is provided by a licensed Canadian provider or pharmacy.
